CHILDREN'S BOOKS

Moomin reading and jam session

The stories about Moominvalley are some of the most beautiful children's literature there is. That's why it has been absolutely fantastic to write music for the book What's Happening?

My regular partner Ronan Perrett and I visit the Main Library three days in a row between Christmas and New Year's, where we read aloud, play music and finally invite everyone to join in a joint jam session.

Evi and the clarinet

My musical reading and jam session gives children and their adults the opportunity to dive into a musical universe where only imagination sets the limits.

What is Evi and the clarinet?

Evi and the Clarinet is a picture book for children aged 2-4, which is about Evi, who dreams of playing music and tries to play on pots, pans and water glasses, until one day Evi receives a clarinet as a birthday present.

I have composed a series of short clarinet pieces that fit the plot of the book, and these melodies will be played by a clarinetist at the reading event while I read from the book.

The book ends with the open question “What instrument would you like to learn to play?”, which the participating children will have ample opportunity to explore in the subsequent jam session.

Evi and the Clarinet will be released in October 2025.

Magical bagpipe story with song and music

I've decided to get to know my Scottish roots better. That's why I've started playing the bagpipes, and in October I went on a research trip to Glasgow, Lochaber and Edinburgh.

My work will eventually result in a children's book about the bagpipes and Scottish folklore with accompanying music. The finished book will be some time in the making, but this autumn I have already unveiled my story through musical reading events at two Nørrebro libraries and the LIBRARY on Rentemestervej.
